Nick Garver

Associate

Nick Garver is an associate attorney at Garcia Rainey Blank & Bowerbank LLP, where he focuses his practice on business and commercial litigation. Mr. Garver represents companies and individuals across all phases of complex civil disputes, from pre-litigation strategy through dispositive motions, discovery, and trial.

Clients and colleagues value Mr. Garver’s careful legal writing, his methodical approach to complex factual records, and his ability to translate sophisticated technical and legal issues into practical strategy. His experience spans patent, commercial, securities, real estate, employment, immigration, and government-facing matters, giving him a versatile perspective that he brings to every engagement.

At Fisch Sigler LLP, Mr. Garver defended clients including Amazon Web Services and Juniper Networks against allegations of patent infringement, defending depositions and drafting dispositive briefing for both district court and Federal Circuit proceedings. He also represented Largan Precision Co., a Taiwan-based manufacturer of camera lenses for laptops and smartphones, in a patent infringement action against two other lens manufacturers and HP. All defendants settled on terms favorable to Largan.

At Miller Barondess LLP, Mr. Garver represented clients in cybersecurity-related defense contractor disputes, securities fraud actions, and governmental liability lawsuits. He was co-counsel for a whistleblower in a False Claims Act trial against missile and rocket technology defense contractor Aerojet Rocketdyne. Aerojet settled on the second day of what was set to be a multi-week trial for $9 million on the False Claims Act action, plus an undisclosed sum for the whistleblower’s other claims against Aerojet. He also represented the co-founders of Community.com in a securities fraud action against the company and its CEO for lying about the company’s prospects to induce a bargain-basement sale while simultaneously raising tens of millions of dollars from venture capital. Mr. Garver deposed a Community.com shareholder in that matter, and the case settled before trial on favorable terms. Additionally, Mr. Garver defended the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s and Fire Departments in numerous civil matters.

Early in his career, he served as a Law Clerk to Judge James G. Reinhart of the Board of Veterans’ Appeals.

Mr. Garver has been selected as a 2025 and 2026 Super Lawyers Rising Star.

Mr. Garver earned his J.D. from UCLA School of Law in 2018, where he was a scholarship recipient covering 93% of tuition. He served as a Managing Editor of UCLA’s Entertainment Law Review and was an active member of the Veterans Clinic. He holds an M.A. in Latin American Studies from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, which he attended on a full tuition scholarship, and a B.A. in Political Science from Yale University.
